The farm gets its name from the hill in front of it (Serra di
Castiglione), a renowned area of great archaeological interest.
In fact, the sepulchral rermains found on the slopes of the hill date
back to the 2nd century BC., whilst the settlement (Fortezza d’Altura)
situated on top of the hill, as well as parts of the furnace still to
be found at the foot of the hill, probably belong to the Etruscan period
(5th century BC.)
Situated at about 50m above sea level, it is about 2km (3 minutes
by car) from the town centre of Marina di Campo and its beautiful beach,
and about 5/10 rninutes away from the most important beaches on
the south-west coast of the Island such as Cavoli, Seccheto, Fetovaia,
etc...
Tall cypresses, holm-oaks, cork-oaks, pinewoods and Mediterranean
bush are characteristic of the surroundings, giving an atmosphere of tranquillity.
Vineyards, olive groves and orchards surround the house, which is built
on two floors: the apartrnents used for the farm holidays are on the ground
floor while the owners of the farm use on the upper floor.

The apartments consist of a large open-plan living room with kitchen
area and divan bed (which can be made up into two single beds), an anteroom,
double bedroom and a large bathroom with shower.
Each apartment has its own outside area with a garden table and
chairs.
A large area has been created on the farm for recreational moments,
for adults and children, with bowling, swings, table tennis, mini table-
football and archery. The products offered by the farm are: olive oil,
wine, fruit and vegetables in season grown on the farm.
Each apartment has its own central heating.
The farm is open all year round excluding November.
We can accommodate up to a maximum of 11 people.
