Appartamento Virgilio

Portoferraio is one of the main towns on the island of Elba and was the historic residence of Napoleon. It is a tourist and trading port where ferries leave for the mainland; the forts and bastions dating back to the mid 1500's are imposing. The surrounding areas of Portoferraio are dotted with beautiful sandy and white pebble beaches, all surrounded by the Mediterranean maquis.

The apartment, "Virgilio", is situated on the first floor of a building with lift, surrounded by a garden belonging to the condominium. Despite its conveniently central location, it is very peaceful. Supermarkets, chemist's, newsagent's, tobacconist's, bars and ice-cream parlours are all within easy walking distance. The port and the bus station, for buses to all the beaches around the island, are five minutes away on foot.

But it is the nearness, just a few minutes walk away, of the apartment to the white beach, Le Ghiaie, and its crystal-clear waters, that makes staying here even better. And if you no longer want to stay on the beach, there are the shady gardens just behind, where there is also a play area for children.

The "Virgilio" apartment has colour TV, balcony, washing machine and iron, hair dryer and heating in autumn. It comprises a large living room with kitchen area with cooker and fridge-freezer, three bedrooms - two twin or double rooms and a comfortable single bedroom. There are two bathrooms, each with shower.
