During the summer period on Elba, the night comes
alive with music, lights and colour. So where
do we begin our long noctural journey towards
dawn?
The first stop for insomniacs is one
of these "in" caffes. At Portoferraio,"Bar
Roma", "Baobab" at
Marina di Campo or "Rodriguez"
at Capoliveri, all of which fondemental starting
points in the night life circuit.
Before moving on to one of the few nightclubs,
a quick stopover at the "Tennis Ram"
of Marina di Campo, is recommended. Here night-owls
meet up for a snack, cocktail or beer or even
a game of mini-soccer or ping-pong.

At Capoliveri, one can decide to head over to
"Sugar Reef ", which specialises
in live music to the tunes of blues, jazz and
rock.
At Portoferraio, two extremely popular pubs,
"Rifrullo" and "Inferno"
dominate the nocturnal scene, perfect for a
quick bite and some live music. Passing through
Marina di Campo, "Il Tinello"
or "Giannino" offer a delicious
plate of pasta accompanied by live music.
Night owls can let their hair down at the
Club 64 and Rodeo discos located, respectively,
above the Gulf of Biodola and in the village
of La Pila (between Procchio and Marina di
Campo) where they can dance to music at full
volume until the early morning.
For a more exotic experience, "Morumbi"
(run by the same owners of the famous "Maracana"
of Florence) offers spendid exibitions by Brasilian
dancers and hot Latin-American music for a guaranteed
top night out.
Finally, when the first rays of sun begin to
dawn on the night skies, its time to take
a seat at a table at the "Bar della
Bionda". Situated at the sports stadium
of Portoferraio, here at the end of a long nocturnal
marathon and infront of a steaming cappuccino
and fresh bun,one can contemplate on which beach
they will spend the rest of the day at.
