Tourist Assistance Centres of the Tuscan Archipelago National Park
The Park Centres are in most major towns on the Island of Elba, often where there is something of historical interest, so as to provide the tourist with a communication point with the wonders of the National Park and the Island.
The Park Centres are open to the public from April 21st to November 1st with seasonal timetables. At present there are two, and they are run together with the Park Organization and the Communes of Marciana and Rio nell'Elba whose assistance is available to tourists. Admittance is free, and if you wish you can purchase informative brochures complete with photographs. Inside there is full information about the Park: the different flora types and fauna species, the geological, historical and cultural origins of the Island, explanations concerning past and present methods, anything that might make the tourist want to go and see Elba's riches for himself. Once a week short guided excursions are organized, so tourists can also get to know the surrounding areas, all equally interesting.
