This long sandy beach is characterised by its magnificent dunes of fine sand and the many amenities it offers for tourists. In fact it is possible to try almost every type of aquatic sport in Lacona. In the surrounding area there are many types of accommodation; camping sites, hotels, residences, apartments and numerous shops.

It is one of the longest beaches on Elba and is all marvelous fine golden sand. Further out to sea the sand gives way to a sea-bed of rocks and seaweed, ideal places for diving. The area is served by buses, has a large car park and is easily reached by car.

The beach is ideal for young people as it has extensive areas of rent free beach. Thanks to the lovely fine sand and the gentle slope down to the sea it is also ideal for families with small children. In some parts of the beach you can walk out from the shore for several metres before the water gets deep.
It is one of the few beaches on Elba which has its own natural shade. There is a lovely pine wood where you can rest, play, or eat in the shade of its huge pine trees and it borders almost the whole length of the beach.
