A lovely beach about 220m long and 20m wide, composed of multicoloured pebbles, shingle and sand.

The beach is in the centre of a horseshoe shaped bay with a rocky outcrop thanks to which it is exposed only to wind from N.N. West. The left half of the beach has a stony sea bed , the right a more gradual decline suitable for smaller children.

On the left hand side looking towards the sea there are the remains of an old furnace in little red bricks, where limestone from the mountains was transformed into lime to then be transported to Portoferraio in rowing boats.

It is one of the few beaches which can be reached overland in the municipality of Rio nell’Elba (together with Nisportino and Bagnaia). The other beaches can only be reached by boat. It is an ideal beach for those who wish to spend a tranquil holiday, away from the crowds.

On the beach there are bars, restaurants and rents for beach umbrellas, loungers, pedal boats and small crafts. There is also a slipway for small boats. There are parking places along the road to the beach.

How to get there:
It can be reached by a road partly tarred and partly dirt from Bagnaia (the road is usually in good condition) and also from Rio Elba. From Bagnaia you must follow for Rio Elba – Nisporto for 4 kms. The road is quite bendy but also offers a good panorama: Portoferraio and the north coast all the way to the promontory of Enfola and valleys of mediterranean plummeting down the rock face to the sea. The beach is 150m after Nisporto on the left hand side. Coming from Rio Elba you follow directions for Nisportino – Nisporto for 6,4 kms.
