Norsi is situated within the Golfo Stella and is a splendid example of dark sand beach typical of this coast. Mostly exposed to winds form the south it is well exposed making it warm even in the cooler months.

To reach it from the road that leads to Capoliveri and Porto Azzurro from Portoferraio you must turn left at the crossroads for Lacona. The first and most frequently used means of access can be reached by taking the dirt track on the left, at about 700m. from the crossroads in correspondence with the sign “Norsi”. There are a very few parking places available along the road and also in a small space near the beach.

You can reach the beach by following two separate footpaths: on the right a more narrow and difficult footpath, on the left a wider and easier one which runs along the garden wall of a private villa and is accessible to pushchairs.

The beach is quite long (roughly 400m.) and it is divided into 2 parts by a rocky outcrop which almost reaches the sea. The beach is composed of fine dark sand and fine black shingle. Depending on the weather conditions there may or may not be dried seaweed present on the beach.

The beach descends gradually towards the sea, offering safe access to the water. Only in a few places it is more difficult to access owing to large boulders and rocks on the seashore. On the left hand side there are more rocks and access to the water is quite difficult. For children the right hand beach is preferable. The beach is characterised by the dense mediterranean scrub which grows down onto the sand. Two small bars offer a simple restaurant service during the summer.

It should be noted that during the summer vehicles which obstruct the passage of other cars on the already tight road are frequently fined.

Another means of access can be reached by continuing along the main road and stopping on the promontory which dominates the whole of Golfo Stella, offering an enchanting view of the beaches of Norsi on the left and Acquarilli on the right. From here two narrow paths lead to each of the two beaches. A few parking places are available in correspondence with the start of the two paths.
