The beach of Straccoligno is sandy, with emerald coloured sea, which has a gentle slope suitable for children. Surrounded by greenery, between the point of Capo Perla and Lisciolino it is easily reached by an asphalted road and is only 3km from Capoliveri.

About 220m long and 8m wide it is reasonably sheltered from winds coming from the south, south-west, west and partially from the north. Instead it is almost completely exposed to the east. Despite the uncontaminated nature which dominates this splendid sandy beach, it offers many services and is well organised for tourists.

As well as bars and restaurants it is possible to hire beach umbrellas, deck chairs, pedal boats and small motor boats ideal for visiting the splendid bays and coves in the area.

Next to the beach of Straccoligno, apart from other small inlets, one can enjoy the marvellous beach of Calanova, which is characterised by two small islands which mark the boundaries of the bay and can be reached on foot thanks to the shallow water. On the opposite side, controlling the entrance to Porto Azzurro, one can admire the fortress of Faro Focardo, built by the Spaniards in 1600.

In summer it is served by a bus service from the village of Capoliveri. There is a choice of accommodation in the area, mostly small apartments or residences.

The beach is suitable for scuba diving, sailing and windsurfing.
It is accessible by wheelchair.
