Note: Capo Enfola, joined to the island by a very narrow stretch of land, is the site of an old tuna factory, where up until 1958 the tuna fish caught in these waters was processed. The beach on the south side has a small jetty and mooring field, run by the Association of the Amici dell’Enfola.
Enfola is easy to reach by car from Portoferraio, which is about 6 km away; follow the road signs for Enfola-Viticcio. From a conveniently situated car-park right behind the beach, you can admire the coastline as far as Sant’Andrea. You can also hire pedal boats and use the slipway to launch small and medium size boats.
The north side of Enfola is less interesting and used almost entirely for mooring local fishing-boats.
