Note: Reale can be reached by car by following the main road from Porto Azzurro to Rio Marina. After about 2 km. a sign on the right indicates Capo d'Arco-Reale, which takes you directly to the beach.
From here you can make an interesting and easy excursion along the coast to the well-known little Terranera Lake – a distance of some 600 metres.
On the way you can still see evidence of excavation activity in the old mines: from the old loading bridges to the unmistakable reddish colour of the terrain sprinkled with glittering mineral dust.
