Note: Sansone beach nestles under the steep white cliffs of the stretch of northern coastline that extends from Capo Bianco to Capo Enfola. The transparency of the seawater, particularly on days when the sirocco wind blows, makes this beach quite unique. Despite the camping site nearby, this small white shingle and pebble beach rarely gets crowded, probably on account of the 10 minute walk along a difficult path necessary to arrive there.
To get to Sansone, take the Portoferraio-Viticcio road; after 4 km you will come to the Tre Colonne Restaurant on your right, in the Acquaviva locality.
There is no car park, although the road widens out in some parts, providing a few places to park.
Just before you arrive at the restaurant, a road on the right leads to some houses; continue down the road until you arrive at a gate (with a pinewood on the right); take the path on the left (indicated by a sign). The first beach you come to is La Sorgente, which is also small and made up of little white pebbles.
To reach Sansone beach, continue along a second path which passes the entrance to the camping site on the left, and climbs up the hill. When you reach the top of the promontory that separates the two beaches, continue along the path that leads down to the beach.
When you see this splendid beach you will realize that the effort was well worth it.
