Getting around the Island of Elba: bus timetables, taxi phone numbers, petrol stations

There is a good road network on the island. All the major towns are clearly signposted and can be easily reached along asphalt roads.

Those who choose to go to the island without taking their car can either rent a car, motorbike, scooter, quad, bicycle or boat through any one of the agencies to be found all over the island, or, if they prefer, can go to the major towns by taxi or by bus.

On busy days, like those from April 25th to May 1st, and during July and August weekends, we advise you to head for the ferry in Portoferraio with plenty of time; depending on the ferry time there are often traffic jams due to long queues coming from Porto Azzurro and Procchio.
