Garages and parking at the Port of Piombino

Those arriving in Piombino by car and wishing to continue to Isola d’Elba without taking their vehicle on the ferry can leave their car in one of the paid car parks in the port area, some of which are just a few hundred metres from the ferry boarding points.

To drop off passengers and luggage as close as possible to the boarding points, you can drive to Piazzale Falcone e Borsellino, where there is a free short-stay parking area with a parking disc, for a maximum of 2 hours. The car park is close to the escalators, providing easy access to the ticket offices and boarding area.

Access to the port areas is regulated. Except for specifically authorised persons, access to the port is through Gate 1 in Via Carlo Alberto dalla Chiesa. Anyone already holding a valid ticket for departure can proceed directly to the boarding area from one hour before the scheduled departure time. In all other cases, the waiting car park in Piazzale Falcone e Borsellino can be used, with a maximum stay of 2 hours.

This area is therefore also the most practical solution for anyone who simply needs to drop off passengers with their luggage before departure, without leaving the car parked for longer periods.

It is advisable to plan ahead before departure, especially during busy periods, checking availability, rates and any booking options at the paid garages and car parks listed below.

Parking for commuters: specific parking areas in the port zone are reserved for commuters and are accessible with prior authorisation. Applications must be made through the Portofacile platform, accessible from the homepage of the Port System Authority website.

Following the reorganisation of parking in the port area that came into force in August 2026, this is currently still the procedure for commuter parking. Unless the Port System Authority issues new provisions, no changes are expected in the coming months.
