Acciarello is the ferry operated by Blu Navy, running year-round on the route that connects Piombino to the Island of Elba. It is a fairly large ferry, capable of transporting up to 230 cars.
Acciarello is a bidirectional ferry: it is equipped with dual engine rooms and two wheelhouses, located at the bow and stern. The two propulsion and steering systems operate independently in both directions, ensuring a significant reduction in maneuvering times and, most importantly, speeding up the boarding and disembarking process for vehicles on board.
Its maximum cruising speed is approximately 16 knots, allowing it to cover the distance from Piombino to the Island of Elba in about 1 hour and 10 minutes.
