The HSC Corsica Express Three, of the Corsica Sardinia Ferries shipping company, is a fast ferry built in 1996 by the Affini Shipbuilders at the La Spezia shipyard, renamed the San Marco shipyard in 1999.
It is 103 metres long, 14,5 metres wide, and a burden of 3.560 tons. Its maximum speed is 36 knots. It can carry 535 passengers on comfortable Business Class loungers and 150 cars.
It crosses to and from Piombino and Portoferraio in the summer from May to September, 7 times a day, and takes only about 30 minutes (whereas the other ferries take from 60 to 70 minutes).
