The waves of the past

The Waves of the Past is the latest fiction thriller by Mediaset with Anna Valle, Giorgio Marchesi and Irene Ferri, shot on the Island of Elba.

The series is about the story of Anna (Anna Valle) and Tamara (Irene Ferri), once inseparable friends with a passion for music, and together they formed a successful, music duo. During a holiday in 2004 on the Island of Elba, while one evening they are on a yacht, both young girls are victims of a rape carried out by a group of youngsters unknown to them.

Twenty years later, Anna has now become a pilot, and after the trauma of the attack, she gave up on love and chose to fly. Tamara, on the other hand, remained on the island and opened the "Le Sirene" B&B, specialized in theraputic holidays.

Unexpectedly one day, a phone call makes the nightmare come back to mind to both Tamara and Anna: after many years they areforced to re-live the places of their tragic past, so Anna will have to defend Tamara from a homicide accusation and investigate with the help of Luca (Giorgio Marchesi), the police commissioner who rescued her 20 years earlier after that tragic night.

Anna and Luca give way to an investigation that will bring the truth to the surface that lies hidden beneath the waves as well as the feelings within.

The seies is made by Banijay Studios Italy for Mediaset Rti and directed by Giulio Manfredonia. It was shot in the spring and summer of 2024 partly in Rome (only the indoor shots) and the Island of Elba and you can watch it in six prime times in February on Channel 5.
