Getting married by the sea on the Island of Elba

At least once in their life many couples have dreamed of getting married on the beach with the sea at their back.

Celebrating their wedding with the sound of the waves lapping in the background is a unique and fascinating experience for all. If this is your dream the Island of Elba offers you the perfect setting because there are numerous beaches where you can celebrate your registry office wedding that are officially authorised; or, if you prefer, you can choose a beach to simply represent your wedding.

At present, the municipalities where you are allowed to hold your wedding on a beach are Marciana, Capoliveri, Portoferraio and Campo nell’Elba.

In Campo, for example, you are allowed to get married in Marina di Campo on the part of the beach opposite the Paglicce Beach or at the Convio in Cavoli, one of the most popular and chic beaches that is much loved by teenagers.

The very long sandy beach in Procchio is one of the locations in the municipality of Marciana for those who wish to have their wedding by the sea or in the beautiful beach of Pomonte and also on the wharf in Patresi. The very suggestive inlet in Sant'Andrea offers you the chance to hold your wedding on the wharf or even along the granite cliffs in this tiny paradise on earth.

Capoliveri and Portoferraio are in no way off limits for the couples in love: all the beaches may become the perfect location for the bride and groom (that is, any beach that has a hotel, bathing establishment or a place of particular historical and/or environmental importance hence suitable for a wedding celebration).

Think of the sandy beaches like Biodola, Scaglieri and Forno, or the famous, white sands beaches like Ghiaie, Capo Bianco, Sottobomba or Sansone, all with their breathtakingly beautiful scenery that the bride and groom , as well as their guests, will never forget.

Talking of Portoferraio we mustn't forget l'Enfola that stands out for its narrow isthmus that links the characteristic peninsula to the rest of the island creating two tiny beaches that hence make the entire area totally unique and enchanting.

Last but not least we mustn't forget the beaches facing the harbour in Portoferraio that grant us a fantastic view of Cosimo's town: Bagnaia, Magazzini, Schiopparello.
