Cala dell'Aliva (also known as Cala dell'Alga) is located between Fetovaia and Pomonte, in one of the most unspoiled areas of Elba Island, and like the nearby Spiaggia delle Tombe, it is made up of pebbles and dark rocks that absorb a lot of heat from the sun.
Ideal for true nature lovers, the beach has no shelters or services and is also difficult to reach. A fairly steep path allows you to reach the beach in about 15–20 minutes, requiring caution, especially in the final stretch.
Infoelba recommends: To walk the path, it is advisable to wear closed and comfortable shoes. Flip-flops and sandals are not recommended.
The beach is often visited by boaters who, with their boats, have the privilege of arriving without a long hike but miss out on the natural spectacle that can be experienced by descending the steep path from the provincial road.
On clear days, you can spot the islands of Montecristo and Pianosa on the horizon.
How to reach it
About 1.5 km from Fetovaia, on the left along a straight stretch, there is a small clearing suitable for parking your car. Just before it, near a pine tree located on the valley side of the road, you can take trail 173, which descends towards the sea.
The beach can also be reached on foot from the nearby Spiaggia delle Tombe.
