The Bagno is a small beach on the northern coast, halfway between Procchio and Marciana Marina.
The cove is made up of medium to large pebbles, mostly gray and multicolored. It is about 70 meters long, with an additional 40 meters on the left side facing the sea, where the composition is much more rocky.
A small rocky outcrop on the left allows those who enjoy the rocks to sunbathe and dive.
The lush vegetation and the northern exposure make the beach particularly cool, even during the hottest periods of the summer season.
Curiosity: This beach has particular value in the local history and tradition because, until the 1950s, it was home to one of the two tuna fisheries (the other was at Enfola, now the site of the Tuscan Archipelago National Park), where tuna fishing and processing took place. The presence of the old tuna fishery building, with its marfaraggio (tuna processing facility) and the fishermen's chapel, along with the fishermen's boats pulled ashore, makes this beach unique and fascinating.
Behind the beach, there are also the old fishermen's houses, now converted into homes and villas by the sea.
Mostly frequented by locals from Marciana Marina and nearby residents, Bagno is a peaceful cove even in mid-summer, perfect for those who wish to relax or do some snorkeling.
The view is stunning, stretching from the Enfola promontory to the Procchio beach.
No services on the beach and no access for disabled individuals.
How to get to the beach
About 4.5 km after Procchio (towards Marciana Marina), a sign on the road indicates the entrance to the beach. Access is via a convenient paved path and then about forty steps. There is no parking, and you must park in the few spots available along the provincial road.
