The Calanova beach is located on the eastern side of the Island of Elba, between the beaches of Malpasso and Istia.
It is a small but welcoming oasis of extraordinary beauty and peace. It is about 80 meters long and is framed by lush vegetation made up of pine trees and cork oaks that reach the beach, where it is possible to find some shade on the hottest days.
Made up of sandy and small pebbles, part of the beach is free, and part is equipped with deck chairs, umbrellas, a bar, and a restaurant.
Being difficult to access, Calanova beach is somewhat off the beaten path compared to the more crowded destinations, making it ideal for a day at the sea in complete relaxation.
Thanks to a small docking pier for boats, Calanova beach is often a destination for boaters.
Exposed mainly to currents coming from the north, north-east, and east, on days when winds from the south, libeccio, and west blow, it offers a crystal-clear sea.
The panorama opens up to the coastline of the Longone area, with the rugged heights of eastern Elba behind Forte Focardo.
How to reach Calanova beach
The beach is reachable by car, descending from Capoliveri towards Straccoligno. Once you reach Straccoligno, the road continues and becomes a dirt road. At the end, a gate marks the start of the private property of the Tenuta delle Ripalte; to the left, the road descends, somewhat unevenly, for another 100 meters, leading to a large area where you can park your car.
