Campo Lo Feno beach in Marciana, Island of Elba

Campo Lo Feno beach is in one of the most "rugged" areas in the western part of Elba, that consists of cliffs with a shear drop that go as far down as the sea.

It is not unlike the nearby Pietre Albe beach and a row of white rocks separates one from the other. The beach is long and narrow and consists of pebbles of different sizes mixed with stones made smooth by the waves and all this with the perfumes of the Mediterranean bush all around.

The beautiful sea bed is perfect for going snorkelling.

Since it isn't very easy to get to the beach because the path down is somewhat challenging most people go there by rubber dinghy or by speedboat. It is perfect if you want to spend a relaxing day on a secluded and quiet and peaceful beach.

It faces westwards, where most of the winds come from the west so we advise you to be very careful and always take the weather forecast into account if you go there by boat.

If you're on the beach and look out towards the sea you will see the Islands of Corsica and Capraia.

How to get to Campo Lo Feno beach

Campo Lo Feno beach lies between the towns of Colle d'Orano - 3 km away - and Chiessi - 2 km away.

In order to get to the beach you will have to leave your car at the side of the road near the characteristic stone built house that you will no doubt spot along the road surrounded by terracings and vineyards (please see the last photo in the gallery): that's where you'll see the sign for the path that leads to the beach.

The path crosses one of the most suggestive panoramas of Elba, with Indian figs and rosemary all around, and apart from the first part, going down is quite difficult because the road is steep and the gravel is full of holes so is often slippery.. At times it is very steep and difficult to walk along so we advise you not to set out on your own, be very careful at all times and wear walking shoes. Do not wear sandals or flip flops.

The walk takes between 15 and 20 minutes.
