The Canata beach is located in the area of Lacona, in the municipality of Capoliveri, along the southern coast of Elba Island, within the Tuscan Archipelago National Park.
It is a small, wild and uncrowded cove, overlooking a stretch of clear and transparent sea.
Approximately 100 meters long, the beach is made up of dark pebbles and gravel. The seabed is mixed, with sandy stretches alternating with rocky areas; offshore and especially at the ends of the bay, there are rocks and rocky seabed, making this stretch of coast particularly interesting for those who enjoy snorkeling and observing marine life.
Thanks to its secluded position within a small bay, Canata beach generally remains quiet even during peak tourist periods. It is therefore an ideal destination for those who wish to relax in a natural setting, away from the more crowded areas of Elba Island.
The clear waters and natural surroundings also make the beach perfect for activities such as canoeing, kayaking or SUP, ideal for exploring the surrounding coastline and reaching nearby coves or the large beach of Lacona directly from the sea.
The beach has no services, thus maintaining its natural and unspoiled character. It is therefore advisable to arrive equipped with water, a beach umbrella and everything needed for the day.
Canata is also frequented by those who practice naturism, which is tolerated here. On Elba Island, the only officially recognized beaches for naturism are Acquarilli and Le Tombe, but in this cove it is possible to encounter people practicing it.
