Felciaio beach in Capoliveri, on the Island of Elba

Without a doubt his beach can be considered a tiny jewel that has remained unchanged over the years where you can really relax and enjoy the peace and quiet.

It is divided into two and jus walk along a short path to get to either of them. On the right hand side of the beach some partly natural and partly man made rocks have created a sort of swimming poolwith a sandy bottom that is perfect for those who love diving.

There are numerous small, gravel coves near the beach, that you can reach by walking along the cliffs (not very easy), but we advise you to wear sandals and to be careful.

The water at the foot of the cliffs is crystal clear, and is rich in marine flora and fauna, so it is much loved by snorkellers who can admire the sea bed with just their mask and flippers.

The entire beach is free and there are no bathing establishments or rentals, but there is a bar that also sells food, so you can savour it while you admire the view of the sea.

You also have an excellent view of the southwest coast of the island from the beach: from the promontory of Capo Stella to the Capoliveri side of Monte Calamita, with the Island of Montecristo on the horizon.

How to get there

Take the main road from Portoferraio heading towards Porto Azzurro / Capoliveri and when you get to the junction for Valdana, you will see a fee paying car park that is clearly signposted (the cost is 10 euros a day, 5 euros from 4PM). Follow the narrow, grit road from here and you will get to the beach about 300 metres farther along. Another way of getting to the car park is by following a short road from Lido di Capoliveri, that then joins up with the first one.
