Fetovaia beach in Marina di Campo, on the Island of Elba

Located in the southwestern part of Elba, Fetovaia is one of the most picturesque beaches on the island. The beach is set in a magnificent natural context between golden sand, granite cliffs, and the colors of the sea, which range from deep blue to light green, and the white sand, offering unparalleled sensations.

About 200 meters long and up to 40 meters wide, it is made of fine golden granite sand. It is sheltered by a wild promontory (Punta Fetovaia) covered by Mediterranean scrub, which stretches for about 800 meters. On calm days, it is the ideal spot for a pedalo excursion.

The seabed gently slopes, and the crystal-clear, turquoise, calm water creates an atmosphere that makes Fetovaia a true paradise.

The beach is protected from almost all winds: Punta Fetovaia shields it from western winds, and Monte Cenno, at the foot of Capanne, protects it from the Tramontana wind, promoting a mild microclimate even during the winter months. The scirocco wind is the only one that, on stormy days, disrupts the transparency and calm of the sea.

Because of its beauty, the beach is often crowded with bathers. At times occupied by beach establishments, it is also an ideal destination for families with children. The beach is equipped with facilities for disabled people: the Pino Solitario establishment is provided with a job chair, wooden walkway to reach the umbrellas and deckchairs, showers, restrooms, and an umbrella with more space available.

Curiosity: In the summer of 2023, which marked the record for the number of sea turtle nests on the Island of Elba, two turtle nests were laid on Fetovaia beach, from which 79 and 77 baby turtles were born, respectively.

If you prefer a quieter spot, on the left side of Fetovaia, after the small boat ramp, a series of large, smooth granite slabs are perfect for sunbathing, taking a dip in the sea, and enjoying the maximum relaxation.

How to reach Fetovaia

The beach is about 10 km from Marina di Campo, along the western ring of the Island of Elba, and can also be reached by bus. From the provincial road, by taking the turnoff, in just over a kilometer you will reach the parking lot right next to the beach.

The beach is served by free parking (limited spaces) and paid parking (€20 for the whole day during high season and €12 for half a day). It is recommended to arrive early to avoid difficulties with parking.
