Fetovaia beach in Marina di Campo, on the Island of Elba

Golden sand, granite cliffs, crystal clear water

On the south-western side of Elba, Fetovaia is one of the most suggestive beaches on the island. It is surrounded by breathtaking, natural beauty: golden sand, granite cliffs and the unique colours of the water that change from dark blue to light green and go right up to the white sand at the water's edge will give you sensations like no other.

It is about 200 metres long and 40 metres at its widest point, and consists of fine, golden granite sand. It is sheltered by a rugged promontory (Punta Fetovaia) covered by lush, Mediterranean bush that stretches for about 800 metres. When the weather is good it is perfect if you want to go on an excursion by pedalo.

The turquoise coloured water is shallow till quite far out and always very calm, and this helps to make the atmospere on the beach heavenly.

The beach is sheltered from practically all the winds. Punta Fetovaia shelters it from the winds from the west, while Monte Cenno, at the foot of Monte Capanne, shelters it from the wind from the north, and this means that even during the winter months the climate is very mild. The only wind that makes the sea dull and rough is the Scirocco.

Thanks to the unique and natural beauty, the beach is often very busy and this is why there are also several bathing establishments there. It is perfect for families with small children.

If you prefer something quieter, there are some wide, smooth granite slabs to the left of Fetovaia where the boats are pulled in, perfect for sunbathing, or doing some diving and here you will be able to truly relax.

How to get to Fetovaia

The beach is about 10 km from Marina di Campo, and you can also get there by bus along the western ring road of the Island of Elba. Turn off at the main road and after about one kilometre you will get to the car park at the back at the beach.

There are both free paking spaces (but very few) and those at a fee (18 euros for the full day, 12 euros for half a day). so we suggest you arrive early if you want to find a space.
