Giardino beach is on the south-western coast of the Island of Elba, to the right of the better known Tombe beach (FKK).
It is approximately 250 metres long and divided into two: the longer part that starts immediately to the right of the road that leads to the sea while the shorter part is further to your right and lies somewhat hidden by a group of rocks of different sizes that absorb the heat of the sun. Behind the beach you will see dark coloured cliffs mixed with an iron oxidation coating and other minerals.
Giardino beach is quiet even at the peak of the summer season. There is no bathing establishment and if you want to go there it will take you at least 15 minutes to walk down (20 on the way back) while you will have to take an uphill climb with no shade back up. In order to reach the path down you will have to follow low, Mediterranean scrub across lavender, rosemary and rockrose bushes.
Suggestion from Infoelba:We suggest closed, comfortable shoes if you want to tackle the walk down while sandals and flip flops are to be avoided.
The beach is perfect if you want a quiet day by the sea in a natural, unpolluted and wild context far from the noisy crowd.
How to get to Giardino beach
You get to Giardino beach, just like Le Tombe beach, by following the same path. If you come from Marina di Campo go past Fetovaia beach until you get to a bend where the road widens (approximately 16 km along the main road) and you can park here; the path down starts here and in about 15 minutes you will get to the two beaches.
