Le Tombe Beach (FKK) on Elba Island, in Marina di Campo

Le Tombe, apart from its unsettling name, probably given due to the presence of some Etruscan tombs nearby, is one of Elba’s most beautiful wild beaches. There are no facilities on the beach, it takes just under 15 minutes on foot to get there, there is a steep climb on the way back, no buildings in sight: just crystal-clear sea, sunshine, and dark pebbles to lie on.

Getting to the beach is fairly challenging: it takes about 15 minutes to walk down and 20 minutes to return, along a steep uphill path with no shade. Despite the difficulty, it is fascinating to venture down towards the sea, always accompanied by the intoxicating scents of the Mediterranean scrub: lavender, rosemary, pink and white rockrose.

Infoelba recommends: To walk down the path, we recommend wearing comfortable closed-toe shoes. Flip-flops and sandals are not recommended.

The beach is about 230 metres long, made up of black pebbles of various sizes, and is located along the stretch of coast between Giardino beach and Aliva Beach (or Cala dell’Alga). Between the beaches there are large rocks that cannot be used for sunbathing.

It is the ideal beach for those who, despite not having a boat, wish to enjoy the peace and quiet of a semi-deserted setting, even during the busiest tourist periods.

With a 2022 resolution, the municipality of Campo nell’Elba decided to make Le Tombe beach authorised for naturist tourism (FKK).

How to reach Le Tombe Beach

There are two paths leading down to Le Tombe. To reach Le Tombe beach and Giardino beach, we suggest the one indicated below. The other path descends to Punta le Tombe and is more suitable for Aliva beach. 
Coming from Marina di Campo, after passing Cavoli, Seccheto and Fetovaia, pay close attention on the right to a sign reading “via Panoramica”. Continue along the road for about 300 metres (the road bends to the right) and keep an eye out for the road sign indicating km 16 of provincial road 25. The clearing on the left is useful for parking (there is space for a maximum of about ten cars). The entrance to path 112 is in this clearing, and in less than 15 minutes on foot it reaches the sea.
