A secluded small cove with natural pools and crystal-clear sea

Maretto is a very small beach located on the southern coast of the Island of Elba, in the municipality of Capoliveri, just beyond the nearby Madonna delle Grazie beach. Sheltered among striking rocks shaped by the sea, it is a secluded and peaceful corner, ideal for those seeking relaxation away from the busier beaches.

The beach consists of a narrow strip of fine gravel, while all around it there is a characteristic flat, light-coloured rocky area, smoothed by the action of the sea. The water is extraordinarily clear and takes on beautiful shades ranging from emerald green to deep turquoise, with rocky seabeds particularly appreciated by snorkeling enthusiasts.

The most characteristic feature of Maretto is the two natural pools carved into the rock, which help protect the small beach from the waves and offer a picturesque natural pool where it is possible to cool off and relax in complete tranquillity. The large surrounding rocky surfaces also offer numerous spots for sunbathing.

The beach has no facilities, but all the main comforts are available at the nearby Madonna delle Grazie beach, just a few minutes away on foot.

How to get to Maretto beach

Maretto is accessible by sea or from the nearby Madonna delle Grazie beach. A short coastal path starts near the diving school and runs along the rocks for about 100 metres, leading directly to the beach. Continuing along the route, it is also possible to reach the nearby Stecchi beach. It is advisable to wear footwear suitable for rocks, as the ground is uneven.
