The beach of Margidore is located at the foot of the Capo Stella promontory.
The beach is very large, over 750 meters long and about 25 meters wide. It is made up of well-smoothed pebbles of various sizes, mostly gray but also reddish, with only short stretches of pure sand.
On the right side of the beach, the presence of a crane allows small and medium-sized boats to be launched, which can then find shelter and moor in the small harbor located on the right side of the beach.
It is all free beach, except for a small central section, which is leased to a hotel in the area, which also has a bar/restaurant service.
A walkway is positioned on the beach to allow access to the sea for people with disabilities.
The sea is very beautiful, between blue and turquoise, clear, with sloping sandy bottoms that invite swimming.
Behind the beach, there is a beautiful pine forest, unfortunately not accessible as it is private property.
The beach has a canoe and pedal boat rental service, sunbeds, umbrellas, and surfboards, as well as a surf school.
It is usually a really quiet and not crowded beach, thanks to the proximity of the large Lacona Beach, on the other side of the promontory, which attracts almost all the local youth and children.
Exposed to the southeast, Margidore offers a panoramic view of the coastline, stretching from the Calamita Peninsula to the Gemini Islands. On the right, we find the Capo di Stella promontory.
If you rent a pedal boat or a boat, it is worth taking a swim in the lovely Capo Pini beach, located to the left, past Capo Marinaro. This beach is also ideal for snorkeling.
How to reach the beach
By car, you can reach the beach via a well-marked access at the eastern end of the Lacona coastal road, at the beginning of the Capo Stella peninsula. However, there is no proper parking for cars, which must be left on the street.
