Morcone Beach is the first of the three larger beaches on the western side of Monte Calamita, below Capoliveri.
Exposed to the southwest, it is well sheltered from northern winds by Punta Morcone and opens onto a wide horizon where the setting sun enhances the profiles of the southern coastal promontories of the Island of Elba.
The beach is about 270 meters long and consists of sand and some small to medium-sized pebbles. The sea in front is a striking intense blue.
Although not very large in terms of size, it still offers many services. The beach is ideal for those who enjoy conveniences, and due to its easy access, it is also suitable for families with children. The Albatros & Drago Elba in Love beach establishment provides services, bathrooms for disabled individuals, and a job chair.
This beach is also perfect for young people, as they can engage in various sports activities.
From Morcone Beach, by renting a small boat, it is possible to take a short excursion to the coast of the Monte Calamita promontory, rich in beaches and coves that can only be reached by sea. Among these: Il Calone, Le Francesche, Miniera di Calmita, il Cannello, and Vetrangoli.
Of particular note is the beauty of the place in May-June, when the surrounding vegetation is covered with fragrant and intoxicating blossoms.
Curiosity: In 2021, many baby Caretta caretta turtles were unexpectedly born on Morcone Beach.
How to reach Morcone Beach
The beach is easily accessible by car by following the road signs and is only 3 km from Capoliveri. Behind the beach, there is a small paid parking area.
A very convenient option is the Minibus service, which operates during the summer season and connects Capoliveri with several nearby beaches.
