This enchanting beach, formed by small white pebbles, is considered one of the most beautiful beaches of the Island of Elba.
Nestled against the steep, white coast typical of the northern side, which stretches from Capo Bianco to Capo Enfola, the beach offers a unique water transparency.
The great charm of Sansone is particularly evident on days with the Scirocco wind, when the calm and crystal-clear sea reveals the pristine white seabed. Featuring a wide variety of rocks, caves, and crevices frequented by colorful fish, it is the ideal destination for snorkeling enthusiasts.
The beach is surrounded on the right by a rock, chosen by younger visitors for their dives, which separates it from the Sorgente Beach, and on the left by a large sea stack, a favorite spot for canoe or kayak excursions.
On the beach, there is a small beach resort equipped with umbrellas and sunbeds, as well as pedal boat and canoe rentals.
On the path leading to the beach, the "Sansone Reef" bar offers a bar and light food service.
Infoelba recommends: Be careful and keep away from the cliffs behind the beach as there is a risk of small pebbles falling.
How to reach Sansone Beach
By car, take the Portoferraio – Enfola provincial road; after about 4.5 km, park your car along the provincial road (without blocking the traffic lane) or in the paid parking area, and continue on foot along the path with the sign for the beach.
The paid parking rates are 15 euros for a full day, 8 euros for half a day (from 2:00 pm), and 5 euros for motorcycles.
After reaching the Sorgente Beach, which is also small and made up of white pebbles, continue along the short path that climbs the hill. The path is quite uneven, so flip-flops are not recommended as they may make the descent difficult. The effort will definitely be rewarded by the beauty of the place.
