Straccolignino Beach in Capoliveri

A small wild cove between Ferrato and Straccoligno

Straccolignino beach is a small hidden cove on the south-eastern coast of the Isola d’Elba, located between Ferrato 1 beach and the larger Straccoligno beach.

Surrounded by typical Mediterranean scrub and low rocky cliffs, it offers a particularly peaceful and wild setting, mainly visited by those who enjoy exploring the more secluded corners of the coast. The beach, just a few dozen metres long (about 45 metres), is made up of sand mixed with small pebbles, with a seabed that slopes quite gently and clear, transparent waters, ideal for swimming and observing seabeds rich in marine life.

The absence of beach facilities and services helps preserve the natural charm of this small inlet. The access, which is not straightforward and is in fact difficult, keeps Straccolignino a quiet and secluded beach even in the summer months, ideal for those looking for silence, crystal-clear sea and genuine contact with nature.

Its secluded atmosphere gives the feeling of being on a small secret beach on the Isola d’Elba, far from the crowds and immersed in a still-wild landscape.
On the first section of the cliff towards Straccoligno, it is also possible to lie down and sunbathe.

How to reach Straccolignino beach

The beach does not have direct access by land.

It can be reached:

from the sea, by canoe, kayak, SUP or small boat;
from Ferrato 1 beach, by covering a short stretch in the water, generally with the water up to waist height;
from Straccoligno beach, by crossing the rocky promontory that separates the two coves, moving over the rocks with a little care.

Rock shoes are recommended, especially for those coming from Straccoligno.
