Elba for families : beaches suitable for children

If you think there is only one beach and one sea on the Island of Elba you are very wrong, because there is in fact a very wide choice that will no doubt suit everybody's needs!

If you're looking for beaches that offer all the facilities you and your children may want we advise you to head for one of the many sandy beaches where the water is shallow till quite far out and children can play in all safety in the water. There is no pollution so the sea is always crystal clear, and this enables them to have great fun watching the tiny fish swim past them!

The fine sands[/page] beach that runs alongside the town of [page id="303"]Marina di Campo is very long, and you can get to it very easily, either from the seafront or across the small pine grove (where you will also find a children's play area) on the left.

The water is very shallow till quite far out, and any facilities you may wish on the beach are at hand.

Although the long beach in Lacona is a little further away, it too is very popular among families with small children because there is plenty of room for them to play and make new friends; there is also a small pine grove at the back if you want to cool off in the shade when the sun is at its hottest.

Two other fine sands beaches suitable for families with small children are Lido di Capoliveri, where you will find every type of facility on the beach itself, as well as nearby bars and restaurants, and Procchio. This beach too is a very long, fine sands one that has many facilities to offer as well as rentals, bars and restaurants.

If you're looking for a beach that is sheltered from the wind, just keep your eye on the wind, get out your bucket and spade...and have a good time!
