Elba for families: beaches suitable for children

On the Island of Elba, there isn't just one sea and there isn't just one beach. Luckily, there are many options that can satisfy everyone's needs!

To find all the comforts necessary for a family with children, it's better to head towards the sandy beaches where the seabed slopes gently, allowing the children to have fun on the shore. A crystal-clear and unspoiled sea lets the kids see small fish with the naked eye!

Along the town of Marina di Campo, there is a very large sandy beach that can be easily accessed from the seafront or from the pine forest (where there are some children’s playgrounds) located at the eastern end.

The seabed gently slopes, and all the services are within easy reach.

A little more secluded is the large Lacona Beach. Especially popular with families with young children, it offers wide spaces where children can play and make new friends. Behind it, there is a small pine forest where one can take shelter during the hottest hours of the day.

Other beaches to consider for those with young children who prefer fine sand are Lido di Capoliveri, a well-equipped sandy beach with bars and restaurants right on the shore, and Procchio. The latter is also a beautiful, large, fine sandy beach, with facilities, beach rentals, and restaurants.

If you're looking for a protected beach, just check the wind conditions, then prepare your bucket and spades... have fun!

Below is a list of the beaches on the Island of Elba that, based on our experience and knowledge of the territory, are best suited for spending a day at the beach with children. In our selection, we have favored sandy beaches that are easily accessible, well-equipped, and with a gently sloping seabed, but be aware that not all beaches possess all of these characteristics!
