In Portoferraio you can see the house where Letizia Ramolino, Napoleon Bonaparte's beloved mother, lived from August 2nd 1814 to March 2nd 1815. On the wall that looks onto Via Ferrandini, there is a plaque mounted by Giorgio Manganaro, which reads:
GIORGIO MANGANARO
owner of this house
informs any future inhabitants
that in 1814 and 1815
it was the home of
LETIZIA BONAPARTE
and with her, in his twilight
also that of
NAPOLEON
The time Letizia spent in Marciana, on the other hand, is on a plaque on the front wall in the house in Via delle Fonti where, in the days that Napoleon stayed at the Madonna del Monte Hermitage, Letizia Ramolino was a guest of the Vadi brothers . On the plaque it says:

that belonged to the two brothers
chevalier GIUSEPPE and GIOVAN PAOLO VADI
since their ancestor,
CERBONI VADI
was the Mayor of Marciana
