Mercy and Napoleonic Relics Museum

Next to the Church of Mercy you will see a tiny museum where historical relics from the Napoleonic eraare kept: vestments, vases, religious objects and holy chalices.

Some of the most valuable objects therein are the flag with three bees sewn with gold thread that Napoleon gave to Elba on May 4th 1814, Napoleon's bronze mask given to him by Prince Anatolio Demidoff on his dying bed and the bronze mould of his right hand< given by the Armée Museum of Paris.

Since 2016 you can also see  a hand driven ambulance restored by the Misericordia in Portoferraio: a tiny treasure that we think is well worth going to see.
