Old workshop museum

The Old Workshop Museum has been built inside the workshop of the mine, and is just off Calamita Mine, above the Vallone mining site.

The museum is full of original tools and equipment, and inside you will be told the history, life and traditions of the miners who worked in Monte Calamita.

The showrooms are exact copies of some of the settings of the real mine as it actually was: the workshop, the tools used, the first aid room, the offices and the archive with all the documents, the registers of those who had needed medication and finally maps of the time.

There is also a small bookshop in the museum, and outside there is a picnic area and a car park.

The Museum can be looked upon as a place to start off from if you want to follow some trekking routes or go on a guided tour and head for the mines, or the beaches or the paths up Monte Calamita.

If you wish, a shuttle bus will take you on a guided tour of the mining sites of Ginevro mine.
