| How to get there | You can get to Pianosa from Elba after less than one hour's sailing but since access within the last mile on unauthorised boats is forbidden it is better to get there on a guided visit.
A Toremar ferry(that leaves from Piombino) takes you there from Rio Marina every Tuesday, or if you prefer, the Acquavision shipping company takes you there, and provides daily departures. |

When the weather allows, you can go in for a swim in the shallow and crystal clear waters ofCala Giovanna, and for those who love snorkelling you can admire the rich marine fauna that you will find on the sea bed.
Guided excursions with the Park
| Guided tours | Once in Pianosa you can choose from the various [page id="897]daily tours for tourists[/page] that the qualified Guides carry out: on foot, by bus, on a horse and carriage or on mountain bike, and then go inland and visit what remains of what was once a prison colony.
In recent years the Park has allowed expert scuba divers and small groups of divers, on the sole condition that they are accompanied by environmental guides, to go scuba diving and hence discover, what was, at least up till now, one of the most hidden seas of the Mediterranean. |
