“Giovanna Neri” VerdeBlu Centre

The new “Giovanna Neri” VerdeBlu Centre is located within the Mola wetland, the most important on the Island of Elba, helping to safeguard this vital ecosystem.

The facility is managed by Legambiente Arcipelago Toscano and ASD Diversamente Marinai, which together monitor the area and provide visitors with the information needed to discover and protect this precious treasure trove of biodiversity.

The centre, which has rooms equipped to welcome visitors, is enhanced by a garden planted with native species including lavender, rosemary, thyme and oregano, as well as plants that provide food for foraging bees and butterflies.

A range of mainly outdoor activities is offered, suitable for all members of the community and aimed at improving knowledge of the wetland, habitats of community and regional interest, and the fauna, especially bird species associated with marshland environments, which live, nest and/or stop temporarily at the site.
