Information and facilities for cyclists

The Island looks as though it was created specifically for cyclists: perfect for those who come to Elba for its beautiful beaches and at the same time want to make the most of the breathtaking scenery by going round it by bike, and perfect for those true cycling fans who want to organiseoutdoor tours combined with sport and nature, all of this in the wonderful Tuscan Archipelago National Park.

There are numerous facilities in Elba specifically for cyclists, centres for technical assistance where any part of your bicycle will be checked, changed or repaired, and rental of mountain bikes and bicycles. There are also many local teams and numerous cycling guides who can be found all over the Island of Elba and are an important reference point should you need any type of assistance or information.

Always wear your cycling helmet.
Be honest with yourself concerning how fit you are, and always enquire about the weather conditions before you set off. Be very careful and always make sure your pace is suitable for the type of road, slowing down if you're going downhill, round a bend or along a bumpy road. Watch out for any traffic or excursionists, who have the same rights as you, and always respect the Highway Code. Check your bike over before you start off, and have any necessary equipment should you need to do some repair jobs. Wear suitable clothing for the time of year.
