The longest race on the Island of Elba
The Elbaovest Granfondo, born in 1995 after the foundation of the A.S.D. Elba Ovest, is the longest Mountain Bike race on the Island of Elba.
The route has been changed and made longer over the years, and is now the official Elba Marathon Mountain Bike Race.
The Elba Marathon MTB Race takes place every mid October on the western side of the Island of Elba, and gets more and more exciting every year.
You will have to face different and new uphill and downhill tracks that have been added, so require new techniques and skills, some easier parts where you can relax a little and enjoy the view, others that are more difficult where you may need to do some jumping, and all this makes the entire race truly spectacular; it starts off in Marina di Campo, then up towards Monte Perone, past Poggio, Marciana, San Cerbone, and down to San Piero and Sant'Ilario.
