The Corri Umberto race is not only a day of sport but also a fantastic celebration where people get together and give their support.
An important day that has been repeated every year since 2015, when the municipality of Porto Azzurro, the AVIS from Portoferraio, the Elba Palliative Treatment Association and the Island of Elba Diversamente Sani Association dedicate their entire day to Umberto Pecorario, a teenager from Porto Azzurro who died in a car accident.
The day's programme consists of the running race over 12 km along a somewhat challenging route that takes place in some of the most suggestive parts of Porto Azzurro as far as the Terranera lake, as well as the 3 km walk around the town itself.
There are also races from 200 metres long to 1 km for both children and teenagers, depending on their age, that start off from the main square and go as far as the harbour.
Suggestion from Infoelba: If you wish further information about the routes, how to enroll as well as the rules and regulations of the Corri Umberto race please visit our elbaeventi.it website at the sports category!
