Corri Valerio

The race is organised by the local Avis in Marciana Marina, known as "Valerio Pisani", and from whose name the race called Corri Valerio comes from; it was first held in 2001 in Marciana Marina with the intent of encouraging people to give blood from time to time.

Over the years this "mid winter" race has grown in popularity and has become more and more important not only among sports lovers but also for the town itself because the entire population is involved in the organisation for the whole day.

The 10 km race is held along the streets and roads in Marciana Marina that for the day are turned into an "outdoor race track" and as you run you will go through some of the most suggestive areas of the town: from Cotone to Via del Toro as far as Fenicia beach.

Children, teenagers, whole families, professional and amateur athletes all get together for the event, because as well as the long race suitable for adults there is also a choice of different races for children with various lengths and types of routes depending on the ages of those who take part, and there is also an ecological walk for families that is only 3,4 km long.

Arrival and prize giving is usually at the Marciana Marina Sporting Club, and here there is also a pasta party where you can have something to eat and drink and spend the rest of this very enjoyable day with friends and family.
