Another key event for trail running enthusiasts is the MT – Miniera in Trail race.
Launched in 2013, this competition features an exceptionally scenic route through the iron mines of Rio Marina, one of the most unique locations in the world. The course winds through the lunar landscape of the vast open-pit quarries of Rio Marina, crosses Mediterranean scrub, and runs close to the crystal-clear green waters of the northern Tyrrhenian Sea along unspoiled cliffs.
Participants can choose from three routes:
- MT27: 27 km D+970 – Competitive race
- MT14: 14 km D+520 – Non-competitive race
- MT10: 11 km D+400 – Non-competitive race
