Tuscany Islands 2018 Walking Festival - autumn

The autumn Walking Festival is held from September 22nd to October 7th 2018, and is an excellent opportunity for those in search of a relaxing holiday that includes walks surrounded by greenery in the heart of the Park of the Tuscan Archipelago.

This is your chance to take advantage of the September atmosphere in Elba, full of different colours, flavours and scents all around you, as well as grape harvests and chestnuts. You can choose from walks in the heart of nature with the scent of the Mediterranean bush in the air all around you, and as you follow the paths along the coast you can admire the other sister islands on the horizon. Discover the granite routes and the shepherds' goat pens no longer used today, or the old rail road, or the underground mine of Monte Calamita and the Ginevro tunnel, or Innamorata beach that you will pass on your way to old mining yard of Vallone. You will go along the coastal road from Rio Marina to the tiny hamlet of Cavo surrounded by colours as well as the suggestive remains of the old iron mines. As you go through the mining town of Capoliveri with its characteristic lanes and alleys you will also stop at the Sea Museum and view the fascinating remains of the Polluce shipwreck treasure.
