The Anello della Calce is a scenic circular itinerary in the Golfo Stella area, in the territory of Lacona. A route immersed in Mediterranean scrub, with beautiful sea views and shaded sections among pine trees and the scent of rosemary, ideal for those who wish to enjoy a panoramic walk that is not overly demanding.
How to get there
To reach the starting point, it is necessary to arrive near Hotel Capo di Stella or slightly beyond. The road becomes unpaved: driving carefully is recommended. After parking in a widening along the road, continue on foot uphill until reaching a gate. Once past the gate, the trail officially begins.
The route
The first part of the trail is uphill, but on a wide and comfortable track. The path is shaded by trees and immediately offers a wonderful view of the sea, which accompanies hikers on the left for much of the walk. This is the ideal stretch to take your time: bringing a packed lunch and stopping among the pine trees is a great way to fully enjoy the tranquility of the area.
Following the signs for Anello della Calce (257) and 256, continue until reaching a junction at higher altitude where three possible directions meet. The suggested option is trail 257, which descends along the sea: one of the most panoramic sections of the entire itinerary. Here the trail becomes even more charming, surrounded by rosemary and typical Mediterranean vegetation, with an open and spectacular view over Golfo Stella.
During the descent, it is possible to take a small, unmarked detour leading to a beautiful little cove. Instead of continuing uphill to return to the initial junction, keep descending; at a certain point, on the left, a small path through the woods leads towards the sea. The cove, intimate and rarely crowded, is perfect for a break, for sunbathing and — in the warmer season — even for a refreshing swim.
After the detour, return to the main trail. The last part of the loop includes a slightly more demanding uphill section, always immersed in the woods. Once back at the junction, the path continues downhill to the initial gate and then to the parking area. A complete, varied and panoramic loop that takes about 2 hours of actual walking time, excluding breaks.
Infoelba suggests: The route is also suitable for families with children accustomed to walking, but it is not suitable for strollers due to uphill sections and the unpaved surface. Wearing hiking shoes or comfortable sports shoes is recommended. Always carry water, especially during the warmer months.
