The 2021 Walking Festival is an appointment for all lovers of naturalistic trekking that is held in the heart of the beauty of the Tuscan Archipelago Park from March 20th to May 30th.
It can be considered an invitation to discover the tiny villages that are rich in tradition, the brilliant colours of the spring flowers in bloom, going on walks based on a specific theme, in peace and quiet, far away from the hustle and bustle and above all in complete safety. The program concerns the islands of Elba, Pianosa, Giglio and Capraia.
A new aspect this year is the geo-experience: walks based on geology as well as biowatching, that is, walks based on deepening your knowledge of the protected sites of the Rete Natura 2000 project where participants get the chance of being accompanied by expert naturalists and geologists which means the pleasure of walking is joined to learning more about the Park's geological and naturalistic heritage.
There will also be walks known as 0 kilometre trekking where you will stop at the places where honey, wine and cheese are made and where you will get the chance of tasting some dishes from the typical, local cuisine.
From this year all the events on each island offered by the National Park can be booked directly on line, with payment, where necessary, obvously by credit card.
The National Park respects specific anti Covid rules and regulations, which means only 15 participants at the most may take part in any event at the same time so you will feel safe at all times.
