Scuba diving in Capraia - Punta della Fica

The area is right in the port and can be found very easily thanks to the presence of a rock that in part is on the surface just off the point.

You start to swim down where the water is shallow and will see the sea bed is rich in oceanic posidonia and full of rocks.

This type of area is the perfect habitat for very many marine organisms, where they have chosen to live, reproduce and hide from their enemies.

As you do your scuba diving you will easily see many damselfish, peacock wrasses, blenny fish, breams, damsel fish, saddled bream and sea breams.

At a depth of approximately 15 metres, the rock walls, shaded from the sunlight, are covered in very colourful sponges and bright yellow cluster anemones (Parazoanthus axinellae).

If you swim away from the coast the sea bed goes further and further down until it gets to the rocky wall that plunges right down into the deep blue until it reaches approximately - 40 m. The cliff consists of many rocks and canyons that, when you light them up with your torch, reveal a wide range of shapes and colours that are typical of the cora world: sponges, coelenteratesshellfish and mollusks fill every tiny space.

If you look out towards the deep blue you can't help noticing hunters like red snappers, amberjacks and barracudas.

Scuba diving in this area is perfect for divers of every level of experience even those who love challenging depths in all safety and maximum tranquillity. It is also perfect for scuba diving at night.
