Choosing the right spot to go surfing in Elba requires a deep knowledge of the winds, as well as that of the seabed and the currents therein. The best conditions, however, are on days when the wind has calmed downbut the waves are still strong enough to make surfing possible, or to be more precise, the days that offer regular, well shaped waves. We reccomend you pay attention to the rocky seabed because it could prove challenging to those who don't know the area really well.
Lido di Capoliveri, with its long, golden sands beach, is one of the best locations>/strong> for surfing on the Island of Elba, especially when a wind from the southeast and southwest blows. This beach break is at its best above all when the wind calms down, but it's also very good when the sea is rather choppy and the waves can reach a height of 2,5 metres. The waves are regular even when the wind is strong so they offer enjoyment both to learners and to more expert surfers.

Its sandy coast plus the best conditions as regards the waves, influenced by where the wind blows from as opposed to the beach, make this spot an excellent choice for surfers.This point break offers more than one exit point which means it is suitable for surfers of different levels.

When the wind is moderate, this spot represents the ideal opportunity to perfect your skills. In particular when the wind blows from the northwest the waves are spectacular, regular and, at times can reach a height of 5-6 metres, thus making the ideal conditions for surfers who are looking for strong emotions full of adrenalin.
The beaches of Scaglieri and Biodola attract many surfers, especially during the winter, that is also the best time for surfing in this area. The waves are regular and continuous, above all when the weather calms down after a north or northwestern wind. The beach break on these two beaches offers waves both from the right and from the left.
