Land and Sea Market in Procchio

Every Tuesday and Saturday morning from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. the Island of Elba Land market, inauguarated for the first time in 2011, is held in the special part of the Public Park in Procchio.

The market is run by Toscana Slow Food, in collaboration with the Slow Food Committee of Elba and Capraia, and by the Commune of Marciana, and is financed by the Short Chain of groups in the Region of Tuscany, with the aim of promoting land and sea products on behalf of small firms and local producers.

The firms that take part in this market are checked and certified by Toscana Slow Food, that provides them with stalls at their complete disposal for the direct sale of their products.

Both the firms and their products are all from the Island of Elba and from the other islands of the Tuscan Archipelago. The products are mainly fruit, vegetables and freshly caugt fish (depending on the sea conditions), but you will also find cakes from Elba, jams and preserves, eggs, honey, wine, oil, bread, cheese, cold meats, pasta made from grain grown in Elba and, since 2016, meat from the "Chianina" breed of cows.
