A fixed appointment for the cultural life of Elba, the Barbiellini Amidei Journalism Award aims to promote the work of young journalists under 35. The award is given to the best article that has been able to tell the story of contemporary Italy in newspapers, magazines, and online, as well as the best radio or television service broadcasted by local or national broadcasters.
At the award ceremony, in addition to the young winners, national and international journalists are also present.
The Award, founded in 2008 under the High Patronage of the President of the Republic, is dedicated to Gaspare Barbiellini Amidei, writer and journalist, former deputy managing editor of Il Corriere della Sera, director of Il Tempo, and university professor.
The award ceremony, held in Marciana until 2017, now takes place in the setting of Piazza Vittorio Emanuele in Marciana Marina.
